Keynote Address
The Challenge For Coal
With a choice appearing between geosequestration and closing down the industry, what is the future for coal mining? What will geosequestration and other carbon-minimisation technologies mean for the coal sector. What are the challenges, threats and opportunities facing coal? In the presentation it will be discussed how technology and partnerships can create new opportunities in a changing climate for the coal industry.
Keynote Speaker: Stephan Broek, Hatch

9:45am - 10:30am

Supply Chain Management
Improving the coal supply chain through performance based contracting. Little attention has traditionally been paid to how the structure of contracts between mine, rail and port operators impacts longer term supply chain performance. Influencing the operational behaviour of all supply chain participants for both individual and mutual commercial gain is one practical way to improve the long run performance of our coal supply chains.
